COVID-19

We’ve received several questions in regard to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its effect on the upcoming Geek Fest.

It is with great regret that we announce the Spring 2020 Edition of SJ GeekFest April 11, 2020 has been postponed until June 6, 2020 due to concerns regarding the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Please note that this is not a decision we take lightly. As one of the areas premier events in Southern NJ  that provides shopping experiences to our guests from nearly 200 small businesses and artists regularly, event cancellations such as this will greatly affect their bottom line. In a world where big box stores and next day online drop shippers reign supreme, please understand that small businesses and artisans are the ones who will feel this pinch the greatest. Although we may be forced to postpone events such as GeekFest, we strongly encourage all of you to support small businesses and your creative communities throughout this entire ordeal NOW MORE THAN EVER because without them, we assure you the world would be a much less beautiful place.

In the past week, we have spent numerous hours in contact with other event promoters throughout the region and we have been in regular contact with the Boro of Woodbury Heights and in Tune with County efforts in an effort to provide a proper response to this threat. Ultimately, we have decided it is in everyone’s best interest if we postpone the event until June 6, 2020.
In closing, we encourage everyone to stay safe out there, watch out for one another, regularly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, avoid handshakes, stop touching your face, stay home if you feel sick and if all else fails.

We look forward to seeing everyone on June 6, 2020 at the Woodbury Heights Community Center as we get back to business with nearly 200 local vendors, amazing food trucks, live music, outside larping and fun and so much more!

Live Long and Prosper
